The plot of land has unobstructed sea views and easy access.

The project focuses in the integration of the construction into the landscape, as well as, on bioclimatic design principles. The building evolves within the geographic relief of the plot and to a great extend it is submerged in the earth.

Local bare stone has been chosen for the construction of the building, all retaining and dividing walls in the greater area of the plot are proposed as dry stone wall construction, while the terraces are proposed with cement mortar, colored in the hues of the surrounding earth.

The roofs of the three basic building volumes are planted as the surrounding natural landscape, with herb bushes. This green roof (ecological roof) solution results in a reduction of 30% energy consumption during both, summer and winter. One other advantage of the green roof proposal, together with the use of local stone for the construction of the building walls is the total integration of the project with its natural surroundings.

The building consists of a main level, a basement level and a space for a guest suite. The main building of the house broken into smaller blocks, joined together in two main units, which in turn are linked together through the courtyard, pergola covered with metal frame and wooden overlapping planks. The pergola, in addition to the visual and aesthetic integration of the complex consolidates structurally the complex,, due to the fact that the beams pass through the spaces they join (kitchen, living room). The excavationw will be executed with extreme precision in a way not to tamper with the site beyond what is strictly necessary for the foundations.

The materials and style, as was already alluded, are the traditional materials of Serifos. Specifically, the luse of bare local stone, painted wooden hinged frames, pergolas, gray-green color, solid iron beams, cement mortar finishes in earth hues, stone walls, landscaping with bushes, reeds, citrus etc.
