The plot of land has unobstructed sea views and easy access. The project is proposed into the landscape, as a moderate intervention in the geographical context while incorporating bioclimatic principles.

The walls of the building in the direction north-south, are load bearing masonry walls, constructed with local bare stone, while the walls in the east west direction are in plastered brick This differentiation accentuates the building orientation towards the sea.

The building is single storey above earth with basement and a remote guest house. The main building volume of the residence is decomposed into six smaller connected unities and relates to the guest house through a pergola covered courtyard. This last element has a steel primary structure combined with overlapping wooden planks for shading.

The roofs of four of the six unities are planted with local vegetation, using the latest technology for this undertaking. The insulating advantages of this method result in considerable reduction of energy consumption throughout the year, while on the other hand, a total integration of the building with the natural environment is achieved.

A great attention will be given in the construction methods and materials used for the entire complex. The excavations will be executed with the maximum attention in order to preserve the geographical characteristics of the plot, All terrace and retaining walls, for total integration to the site, will be built in local bare stone. All materials used, respect the traditional aspect of constructions in the island of Serifos, such as the abovementioned local stone, wooden and colored window and door fixtures, pergolas, solid steel elements, earth-colored cement mortar for the floors, as well as the use of local vegetation for the landscaping.
